As a nation, we are most fortunate that Donald Trump is drawing upon the expertise of another visionary to help him avert a fiscal meltdown.  And yes, I wrote “another visionary” purposely, because in a very different way, that’s what Donald Trump is too.  Meanwhile, Trump’s executive orders are political shock & awe to the democrats who are ill-prepared for it.

So, the Left does what it always does, it demonizes with bumper sticker slogans instead of offering alternative solutions.  Do they really believe America has forgotten the ignominy of the last four years; the inflation, the illegal alien invasion, the humiliation in Afghanistan, or how they allowed the situation in Gaza and the war in Ukraine to fester?  Or do they think Americans are unaware of how under democrat leadership we spent more money on our schools yet had the lowest test scores of any industrialized nation on earth?

Chuck Schumer and Maxine Waters shout, “We need to fight!” but fight about what?  What’s the cause – to put even more men in women’s sports?  In 2008 the nation bought the fool’s gold that was Barack Obama, with his stirring oratory and hidden ideology.  But since those heady days, the democrats have been engulfed in a full-on meltdown over Donald Trump.  As an aside, I’m honored to to count a former United States Attorney from the Southern District of California among the readership of this blog, and he predicted the lawfare we’re now experiencing long before the election, emailing me saying, that if Trump wins, his administration will be marching in and out of court for the next four years  – unfortunately it appears my jurist friend was right.

Meanwhile, Trump, with Elon Musk by his side, are thinking outside the box, while an ossified “loyal opposition” underscores its Trump Derangement Syndrome by burning Teslas to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere.  Additionally how many of us were even aware of the danger presented by China’s Belt & Road Initiative with Panama before the president advised us?  An initiative that was signed in 2017 after 8 years of Obama, and right in the middle of the “Russian collusion hoax.”  And never forget, there are no coincidences in the world of geopolitics.

Rare earth minerals are  critical in the 21st century but did the Biden administration ever mention Greenland or possibly making deals to address these matters?  Vladimir Putin wouldn’t take Joe Biden’s calls while Trump is working tirelessly to end the most savage fighting in Europe since Stalingrad!  Will he succeed?  I can on only speculate but an entire continent that’s relying on Trump to end it – yet he’s called Putin’s puppet because he’s not criticizing the man he’s trying to make a deal with, and that he’s going to destroy the economy because he wants to change the current tariff situation that 95% of Americans do not understand.

~ The Democrat Problem(s) ~

Perhaps if the democrats had a leader to focus their energies they wouldn’t appear so ridiculous.  And if Kamala Harris had any semblance of leadership skills, she would have grabbed that banner on November 6th, but she didn’t because she couldn’t – which should tell us everything we need to know about the democrats’ ability to choose leaders.  And without a leader the party hasn’t been able to form coherent strategies to redress any of the nation’s problems, much less develop a message.  And c’mon, developing a message without a policy is akin to making a square circle.  But that’s only part of the party’s problem, they also fail to understand there’s a difference between resistance and governance regardless of how many injunctions are issued.

But the problems of the Democrat Party go even deeper – to use an old baseball term, ’they don’t have a bench!’  Hakeem Jeffries, Bernie Sanders, Kathy Hochul, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Tim Walz?  Are these the people that Americans want to rally around?  Josh Shapiro may be an excellent governor who is flying under the radar, but as my Jewish wife Bobbi reminded me, the Democrat Party will never allow itself led by a Jew, rendering the question of Shapiro taking up the mantle academic.

Only Gavin Newsom is doing something different by taking to airways with his podcast trying to appear that’s he’s open to the ideas from the right. But we should all find it interesting that when Newsom was mayor of San Francisco he spent his time running for Governor of California; and now that he’s the Governor of California, he’s spending his time running for President of the United States with predictable results – people are voting with their feet and leaving both for more sane environs.

I suspect Trump knew what was headed his way and readied himself by choosing a cabinet that’s young, energetic, accomplished and on the same page, and it’s been fascinating watching thus far.  And while executive orders don’t make for permanent policy, it’s a start.

Nonetheless, Trump is off to a better start than in 2017, but mistakes will be made and he’s going to have to pick his battles, but as Elon Musk stated to the press corps from the Oval Office after a meeting with the president, “mistakes will be made but they will be addressed quickly.” Meanwhile, the good news for Trump and the republicans is that at least they don’t have to worry about ‘a message,’ they just need to wait for results, which hopefully will come before the ’26 midterms.

I hope you feel as optimistic about America as I do!
