When I look at today’s political scene, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.  The lies, deceit and misinformation coming from the left is beyond the pale from the Russian collusion hoax to the notion that Vladimir Putin is the cause of our inflation.  However, there are three lies that are so absurd on the face of it, they require a suspension of disbelief.

~ Jussie Smollet ~

For more than a year, the left led by CNN and NY Times asked Americans to believe the most unlikely, impossible, and illogical scenario any rationale human being could possibly imagine–that a gay, black, Trump-hating 40-year-old actor who just happened to be walking the streets of Chicago at 2:00 AM in 15* weather was attacked by two right-wing white men wearing red MAGA hats, who also just happened to be prowling around the same tony, upscale Near North Chicago neighborhood at 2:00 AM in 15* weather.  We were also asked to believe these two right-wing MAGA hat wearing white guys doused Jussie with bleach (a compound that freezes at 20 degrees) before placing hangman’s noose (they just happened to be carrying around the streets of Chicago at 2:00 AM in 15-degree weather) around Jussie’s neck.  Only when a court of law proved this tale was a lie, did the left back off the story.

~ The World Will End in 12 years ~

In January 2019, Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, warned, “…the world will end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” – so doing the math, I guess we’re now just 8 years and 2 months away from the ultimate calamity.  Meanwhile, the Paris Climate Accord that is supposed to address “climate change” is predicated on an arbitrary goal that may or may not be achievable (there are NO peer reviewed studies on the matter) includes no metrics to measure progress and was decided upon without any discussion as to costs.

And what’s truly dangerous about this lie is that it’s destroying our economy as the administration pledges to eliminate fossil fuels.  Meanwhile, there are no studies suggesting if mankind did A, B, and C, the earth’s temperature would be reduced by X degrees over a specific period of time, with an estimated cost of Y.  And if you ask a climate activist, if all 196 signatories to the Paris Climate Accord met their commitments by January 1st, 2023, how much would it reduce the earth’s temperature, you will never receive an answer because they do not know – you may as well ask them how many angels can dance on the head of a pin or if they believe in unicorns – but pipelines remain shut down.

~ Saving our Democracy ~

But by far the most absurd contention of the left is that the January 6th protests represented a threat to our democracy.  Democracy wasn’t attacked on January 6th; a building was occupied by a group of malcontented protestors – nothing more. Yes, these people broke the law, but occupying a building is a far cry from an insurrection.  Meanwhile, since 1970, there have been more than 850 attacks on houses of worship (churches, synagogues, and mosques) in the United States, and if the January 6th protest was a threat to democracy, then those 850 church attacks constituted a threat to the First Amendment rather than being acts of wanton and hateful vandalism.

The left refers to the events of January 6th as an insurrection yet has no one was charged with Insurrection.  Nor was it an attempted coup, which the Encyclopedia defines as, the sudden, violent overthrow of an existing government by a small group.  And the chief prerequisite for a coup is control of all or part of the armed forces, the police, and other military elements.  Unlike a revolution, which is usually achieved by large numbers of people working for basic social, economic, and political change a coup is a change in power from the top that results in the abrupt replacement of leading government personnel.”

So, whether the left refers to the events of January 6th  an insurrection or an attempted coup d’étatthe question the left cannot answer is, how could 1,000 unarmed and loosely organized protestors/rioters, who walked into the Capitol through open doors (and where a few even took selfies with the Capitol police) have co-opted the United States Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, nine Supreme Court Justices, the Department of Justice including the FBI, the entire CDC bureaucracy, the CIA, the millions of US Postal Service, OSHA and IRS employees, the Departments of Treasury, Education, Energy and Transportation, and the most critical of all, the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard?’

Folks, it would have been easier for that ragtag group of protestors to make a square circle than to topple our government – and no, I don’t believe in unicorns either.

Quote of the day: “Freedom of the press is not just important to democracy, it is democracy.” – Walter Cronkite
