Results, not process.

While commenting about the NY Times’ endorsement of Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren, a pundit for Mediaite.com wrote, “…some in the Democrat Party view the president as an aberration and believe that a return to a more sensible America is possible,” followed by, “Then there are those who believe that President Trump was the product of political and economic systems so rotten that they must be replaced.”

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but what I find objectionable and particularly disgusting about the hate-Trump media is how both statements were predicated on opinion and assumption while providing the reader with no specifics.  Honest commentary begins with a valid a premise and provides the reader with both context and facts.  So allow me to ask, just what is “a more sensible America?”  What does it look like?  And why didn’t the author provide an example?   An honest journalist would have detailed specifically what it is about America in the Trump era that “isn’t sensible.”  Perhaps its enforcing immigration law or holding Iran accountable for killing Americans; and what specific political and economic systems are so rotten they must be replaced?  Is the author referring to a free market economy and capitalism?

We never seem to get specifics from the left—instead what we hear are rants and screeds focusing on generalities and processes they either don’t like or don’t understand.   What is it about the left that they eschew actual policy results?  I can’t answer that, but I can speculate–they don’t want to admit the president’s policies are working!  The president’s approach may be unorthodox and it may not be what the Washington establishment is used to seeing, but after sorting through the wheat and chaff, it boils down to one thing–results!

For a bit of contrast, let’s look at how previous administration dealt with Iran and how those dealings were covered in the press.  The Obama’s foreign policy, crafted by Iranian-American Valerie Jarrett, was one of appeasement —and what did it accomplish other than free up $130 billion so Qessim Soleimani could fund terror organizations that kill Americans?  Compare the media coverage the Obama received for allowing ten American sailors to be taken captive, forced to their knees then photographed & humiliated for all the world to see, with the criticism Trump received for killing Quessem Soleimani.

As noted in “The Hill” newspaper, former Secretary of State John Kerry actually thanked Iran for taking care of the U.S. sailors and cast the back-and-forth with Tehran as a victory for diplomacy that ensured their freedom in less than 24 hours.  I think we can all imagine how a similar situation might have played out three or four years ago,” Kerry said during a speech at National Defense University . “And in fact, it is clear that today is a testament to the critical role that diplomacy plays in keeping our country safe, secure and strong.”  Are you kidding me?  Safe, secure and STRONG? Give me a break!  Since when is bowing before a foreign enemy considered “strong?”  Meanwhile, democrats criticized the way the drone strike had been carried out on General Suleimani, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers during the Iraq War as well as for hostile Iranian activities throughout the Middle East.  Obama and Kerry grovel before the Mullahs after 10 American sailors are videoed on their knees for Russia, China, North Korea and all the Middle East to see, while Trump is criticized for killing Iran’s #1 terrorist–only in America!

No other President in American history has been treated in such a shameful manner. This President has been spied on, lied about, made the subject of phony foreign dossiers, insulted, ridiculed, scorned and mocked.  Is he un-presidential at times?  Yes he is; but he’s also either delivered on, or is in the process of delivering on every promise he made during the election.  And what’s so bad about that?
