Fundamental Change Has Come

The phrase, “the genie is out of the bottle,” means that something has been done that cannot be undone; a secret may have been revealed, forces may have been put into motion, privileges or monetary inducements may have been granted that cannot be retracted, etc.   When the genie is out of the bottle, things cannot be restored to the way they were before.  The expression comes from Arabian mythology and was introduced to the West with the publication of One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales, but the expression did not become popular until the 1960s when it referred to world-wide nuclear proliferation.

Today, thanks to the Biden-Obama-Valerie Jarret administration, a very nasty genie has been released, which will plague this country for decades, and perhaps may signal our eventual demise.  Since Joe Biden has been in the Oval Office more than 10,000,000 illegal and unvetted aliens have been released into this country with more arriving every day.  Barack Obama, who is really the man behind the curtain pulling the strings took a page from the Islamic fundamentalist playbook that pursues the strategy of  “If you can’t defeat your opponents through logic, persuasion, and sound policy, then CRUSH them by changing the demographics.”

There are four reasons why I believe our nation’s best days are in the rear-view mirror and why we are ineluctably spiraling into an abyss.

1. Woke ideology which includes the DEI policies, the cancel culture, and Left’s advocacy for a victim mentality.
2. A failure to understand the basic tenets of the Founding.
3. A $34 trillion dollar debt
4. And most insidiously of all, the purposeful altering of the demographic makeup of America! .

And paying particular attention to the last item, illegal immigration, people with no sense of our history, our culture, our norms, and mores have flooded this country and have turned parts of it into an American version of the Third World.  Over one million of Mexico’s poorest citizens live just north of the border between Brownsville, Texas, and San Diego, California.  The NY Times refers to these people as ‘colonias’ or new neighborhoods – neighborhood that bear a striking resemblance to Bombay, Calcutta, and the townships of Johannesburg and Nairobi.  These neighborhoods are rife with of poverty, filth, diseases, drugs, crimes, no sanitation and worse.  They live without sewage, clean water, streets, roads, electricity, or any kind of sanitation and left unchecked, it’s estimated these enclaves will grow to 20 million residents (slightly less than the population of Florida) over the next ten years.  And from that, there is no return!

That American schools, hospitals, and prisons are overcrowded should come as no surprise to anyone – situations that exist to a large extent because of illegal immigration.  So, in addition to redressing those matters over time, other benefits to controlling our border that the Left will never talk about is that without illegals, fewer people would work off the books, thus increasing tax our revenue, our schools might actually educate more American kids when their resources aren’t diluted by being forced to teach in 100 different languages, billions of dollars would remain in the United States instead of being sent “back home” to support families from Mexico to El Salvador, and even more importantly, and predicated on FBI statistics, our crime rate would go down, most notably a reduction in sex crimes.

We can’t blame these people for wanting to come here, but where do we draw the line?  We cannot support the entire world.  PEW Research tells us that if they could, more than 150,000,000 people would emigrate here within the next six months, which would collapse the economy and the nation writ large.  Which brings me to an old parable, “If you give a man a fish, he will be hungry tomorrow. If you teach a man to fish, he will be richer forever.”  This country cannot feed the world and the more the liberal left tries, the more we begin to resemble a Third World country.

I’ve long believed that if one cites a problem one should also offer a solution, but I am not smart enough to figure out how this situation will ever be redressed – and that is truly frightening.  I hate to say this, but Obama was correct in his prognostication, “Fundamental change has come to America.”  And the useful idiots who put him into office may be surprised when they begin “reaping its rewards.”
