Does anyone recall ever hearing the democrats complaining when Obama promised to get our fiscal house in order?  (But then perhaps they knew Obama wasn’t really serious)

“We cannot win the future with a government of the past. We live and do business in the information age, but the last major reorganization of the government happened in the age of black-and-white TV. There are twelve different agencies that deal with exports. There are at least five different agencies that deal with housing policy. Then there’s my favorite example: The Interior Department is in charge of salmon while they’re in fresh water, but the Commerce Department handles them when they’re in saltwater.” – Barack Obama

“American taxpayers deserve to know that their dollars are being spent wisely. That’s why my administration has launched an unprecedented effort to root out waste, inefficiency, and unnecessary spending across the government. Already, we have identified billions of dollars in wasteful spending that we have eliminated. But we need to do more.” – Barack Obama

“One of the things we’ve done since I took office is to go after wasteful spending, to go after misspent tax dollars. And one of the areas where we’ve made a real impact is in reducing improper payments—so that’s money that either goes to the wrong person or is misused.” – Barack Obama

“We cannot build a 21st-century economy on crumbling 20th-century infrastructure. We cannot sustain a 21st-century government with a 20th-century bureaucracy. And we cannot tolerate wasteful inefficiency. The American people deserve better. And the economic future of our nation demands better.” – – Barack Obama

“I’ve asked Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people. We have to eliminate waste and duplication so we can focus on what really works.” – Barack Obama

“One of the biggest threats to our economy is the waste and fraud that drains taxpayer dollars. That’s why we’ve taken aggressive steps to strengthen oversight, crack down on those who abuse the system, and recover money that belongs to hardworking Americans.” – Barack Obama

“The American people have a right to a government that is not only more efficient and effective, but also more accountable for every dollar spent. That means taking aggressive action to eliminate waste and fraud wherever we find it.” – Barack Obama

When Barack Obama entered the White House the U.S. national debt was $10,600,000,000,000 trillion.  By the time he left office the debt had almost doubled to $19,000,000,000,000.   Our debt now stands at $37,000,000,000,000 and is precisely why we need DOGE because congress will never agree about whose ox should be gored.
