I saw a vehicle the other day sporting two bumper stickers. The first read, Harris-Walz; the second, Everyone Must Pay Their Fair Share. The owner of the vehicle was obviously a democrat evinced by their inability to examine an issue in depth or to get beyond the basic bumper sticker notion that sticks in an individual’s head like a mantra and closing off all other avenues of consideration. Years ago, famed journalist, Edward R Murrow, cautioned us that the major obligation of the citizenry was not to mistake slogans for solutions. Yet, that’s all Ms. Harris offers – bumper sticker solutions, and I really wish she would explain exactly what an opportunity economy is.
And speaking of paying their fair share, why won’t the democrats include the fact that it’s congress who writes the tax code, and that the republicans have controlled congress just 13 times in the last one hundred years? What am I missing here? In a previous blog post I wrote that using the latest year with available data, the top 1% of income earners received 26% of all income in the United States and paid 46% of all federal income taxes while the bottom 95% combined paid just 33% of all federal income taxes and most interestingly, the bottom 50% paid somewhere between zero and 1% depending upon whose statistics you believe. So, who is it exactly that’s not paying their ‘fair share’ and why is this a talking point if it’s the democrats who were the primary authors of the tax code?
~ The Pot Calling the Kettle Black ~
Fascism is an ideology characterized by a strong regimentation of society, government control over much of the economy, forcible suppression of opposition, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and an obsession with race. By that definition, Democrats today are 21st century’s version of the national socialists—using regulation, mandates, law enforcement, and trillions of dollars in subsidies to coerce Americans to follow their dictates on climate and culture.
Democrats exploited the Russia collusion narrative in 2016 until it was exposed as a lie financed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Democrats tried to keep Mr. Trump off the presidential ballot this year. Democrats have used the law in no fewer than five cases to disqualify him—and New York’s Attorney General campaigned explicitly on a promise to find something, anything, to charge him with.
All of this subverts a basic principle of American justice, yet Harris tells us it’s Trump who threatens democracy. Nonetheless, the democrat cabal has already told us if they keep control of the Senate, take the House and win the White House, they will compromise the independence of the Supreme Court, break the 60-vote filibuster rule, and continue their assault on the Electoral College.
~ Kamala is more inept in foreign policy than Joe Biden ~
“Joe Biden has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades,” was the quote from former Defense Secretary Robert Gates prior to the 2020 election. But perhaps Mr. Gates wasn’t forceful enough in his warning to the American people. Consider, Donald Trump bequeathed a calm and relatively stable Middle East to the Biden-Administration – yet today it’s engaged in a multi-front war with Hamas, Hezbollah and other bad actors all being supported by Iran. Recall too, just 8 days before the October 7th massacre in Israel, Biden’s national security advisor Jake Sullivan boasted that the Middle East was quieter than it had been in several decades. Here are a few more examples of Joe Biden’s deftness in the international arena.
- In 1975 President Gerald Ford ordered a massive rescue effort to save thousands of South Vietnamese and believed that the United States had a moral obligation to honor its commitment to the South Vietnamese if our allies were to trust US leadership in the future. The then young Senator Biden, a foreign policy novice, became the Senate’s most strident opponent of US assistance to South Vietnamese refugees, a stab in the back to the South Vietnamese, a betrayal he repeated nearly 50 years later in our ignominious retreat from Afghanistan.
- During a state visit to China in August 2011 Biden said, “Let me be clear: I believed in 1979 and said so then, and I believe now, that a rising China is a positive development not only for the people of China but for the United States and the world as a whole.”
- But Biden’s ineptitude in foreign matters didn’t stop there. In 2010, FBI director Robert Mueller informed the White House that the bureau had identified four Russian ‘spy couples’ living in the United States and asked permission to arrest them. Then Vice President Biden forcefully opposed the idea, arguing that ‘our national security interest balance tips heavily to not creating a flap’ with the Russians.
- In 2012 Biden told then President Obama not to proceed with Operation Neptune’s Spear to kill Osama bin Laden who was hiding in Pakistan. Thankfully, Obama disagreed, and the result is history.
- In Iraq, Biden confidently predicted that the status of forces agreement would be extended, and that Iraq would be one of the great achievements of the Obama administration. Both predictions were dead wrong as the status of forces agreement wasn’t extended and Obama pulled our troops out of Iraq allowing ISIS capitalized on the power vacuum and seizing control of large swaths of Iraq and Syria.
So, for those who think our foreign policy is rudderless now, you won’t believe what will happen if Kamala Harris is elected.
