• If Hollywood were to come up with a movie script for the Biden presidency, It would be a cross between “Weekend at Bernie’s” and “Being There.”  If you’re too young to recognize those movies, check them out on Netflix and you’ll understand
  • And speaking of Hollywood, in 2020, the Chinese film market officially surpassed North America’s as the world’s biggest box office, all but ensuring that Hollywood studios will continue to do everything possible for access to that country’s market, is it any wonder Disney and the rest of Hollywood cow tows to the Chinese Communist Party?
  • Those of us who matriculated college during the 60s didn’t have the opportunity take courses in ethnic or gender studies; we usually took courses that filled specific requirements for degrees in Business or Engineering or Political Science.  And I don’t recall many ranting professors or woke administrators even as the Vietnam War escalated.  But there was another difference between college students who rioted during the 60s and those who burned America’s cities during the summer of 2020.  The 60’s riots began on college campuses with students whose first mission remained getting an education.  Meanwhile, the BLM and Antifa rioters were bent on destruction and were incited by the woke but godless, the arrogant but ignorant, the violent but physically unimpressive and the strutting but fragile.
  • Has there ever been a Vice President so blatantly unqualified to step into the presidency as Kamala Harris?   She’s vapid, unintellectual, shallow, vacuous, inappropriate, incurious, cackling, ignorant, uninformed, clichéd, unimaginative, and lazy… the list is endless.  And can anyone name a single accomplishment to this woman’s name other than in her late twenties having an affair with then 60-year-old California governor Willie Brown who she used as her steppingstone into politics?
  • Someone recently asked me about my fascination with public policy and politics, so I reminded him that politics per se do not interest me, but that those who fail to take interest in the affairs of government are destined to be governed by idiots and fools.
  • The current problems we face as a nation aren’t a matter of ideology, rather they’re a matter of competence.  There were only two prerequisites for a cabinet position within the Biden administration, first the individual had to be either a woman, a minority, a transgender, or a homosexual; and secondly, he, she, they, it, whatever, had to be woke!  So, is it any surprise we’re seeing empty shelves, rising crime an out-of-control border and a Chinese government issuing warnings to the U.S. to “keep out of their affairs” while launching hypersonic missiles?
  • Keep a close watch on Taiwan – if Biden loses Taiwan to the CCP it will be the greatest foreign policy debacle since Chamberlain said, “Peace in our time” before giving Hitler the green light to start World War II
  • Does anyone know how many Americans remain in Afghanistan?  And why won’t the administration tell us about the 30 plus Sacramento school kids who were in Afghanistan.  I ask anyone reading this to Google it to see if they can find anything current on the matter – I can’t find a thing
  • Most Americans consider freedom of speech a fundamental right.  But did you know citizens of the former Soviet Union were also guaranteed freedom of speech, of the press, and of assembly, meetings, street processions and demonstrations?  As Andrew McCarthy recently opined, “Rights” are not rights by virtue of being written down.  Rights are not self-enforcing.  Written “rights” are, instead, a reflection of what a body politic perceives to be fundamental.  And there is no assurance that this perception will be actualized.  Whether freedom of speech truly exists is a cultural question, not a legal one.  True freedom of speech hinges on the society’s commitment to it as something that is lived, not merely spoken of.  Vis-à-vis the aforementioned, as long as we allow the cancel culture to exist, the reality of freedom of speech will remain in doubt.
  • And lastly, regarding the supply chain problem, I don’t think the administration is looking at the real issue.  Yes, the republicans will hammer Biden about our Christmas presents not arriving on time but that won’t threaten our well-being.  But because Transportation Secretary Buttigieg underestimated this crisis as well as the pyramiding of consequences during his two-month paternity leave we are now at risk for real problems, i.e., the shortage of essential foodstuffs and medical supplies.  When asked about the crisis Buttigieg revealed his abject incompetence and gave us pap about COVID being the cause and the media let it slide.   But the supply chain crisis intersects with labor shortages, government give-aways, energy prices, California’s ridiculous environmental regulations and transport disruptions.  The trucking situation might be straightened out but the energy, labor, and environmental regulation issues will be around for some time to come.  Just sayin’
